Poetic passion - in the spirit of St. George

St. George’s Day, April 23,  (the day of the book & the rose)

A poem inspired by a particular poet…and a passion for poetry

Your poems spring up

from deep within the heart

and its dark chambers

where you brood and write

and ride, as in a chariot

and crack your whip

over the cerebral team

of little grey cells

who leap forth to obey

your commands,

Lippizaner-like

and draw forth your heart

where you ride -

a master poet, incognito

tossing poems like moonstones, or roses

slaying dragons,

arrows through the heart

In the grand tradition

and passion of Cervantes

or St. George.
