White Clouds

A cumulous cloud opens

like a giant flower

in the sky.

Like lilies in a vase

the clouds arise

arrange themselves

like a wedding party

all satin and lace,

streaming and billowing,

drifting intimately

down the blue isles

at a leisurely pace,

like swans in still water,

their rippling reflections

glimpsed for a moment

in time and space.

While others,

more like the feathers

of some vast wing,

angel-like, go flying by,

their shadows moving swiftly

over everything,

connecting earth and sky.
