Magnificat

This morning I awoke
and the mountains presented themselves to me
like a bouquet of roses.
 
Blushing pink and snow white
they floated in a sky blue bowl,
 
an offering of such magnitude
laid upon the altar of my soul.
 
Silently, suddenly, in grace,
like Mary inspired beyond belief
by her annunciation,
 
my soul
magnified the Lord.
