Angle of Repose

 

What a blessing,

 

to walk slow

as a poem,

 

to observe

with delight,

 

the iridescent crow,

 

the robin’s breast,

 

three sky-blue eggs

in a secret nest,

 

and lean towards

the leaning rose

 

to breathe

its fragrant breath

 

and know,

​

the gift of summer,

the angle of repose.
